justpugliafactory wants to be a new lifestyle concept, born from a rural and artisanal context in collaboration with local artists-craftsmen. We work in a sustainable and creative way and create projects to enhance the uniqueness of each product and object. We thus offer our customers a true Italian creative and cultural experience, which they can insert and welcome in their environments and spaces.
A new collaboration is born for justpugliafactory with the Roman artist Simona Ranieri, who is closely linked to the land of Puglia and its intense beauty. The prickly pear shovel is an integral part of the Apulian landscape, a natural sculpture that repeats itself endlessly.
Simona Ranieri has created for justpugliafactory a capsule of unique, totally handmade pieces. An original living idea for those who love a sophisticated lifestyle.
Simona Ranieri :"Prickly pear plant typical of southern Italy and our islands, hand and/or machine stitched with refined fabrics. Inspired by the walls invaded by prickly pear bushes and blades, in my travels along the roads and villages of southern Italy, I wanted to bring this element into my home, in everyday life.Coming out of the natural colours of the plant, I worked for an artistic object, with a choice of sought-after fabrics, which sometimes take me out of the continent, and sometimes dig into the ancient Italian tradition, with fabrics hand-woven by my grandmother, lace and natural fabrics used in agriculture and traditional activities."
Simona Ranieri : "The individual pieces are sewn, one by one, by hand or by machine, by my mother and me, a great shoulder for sewing, and represent a harmonious design between the 'colours of the chosen fabrics', their combination and the 'shapes' of the paddles, the latter cut out on foam rubber. The choice of a ceramic vase and the pebbles, collected by me in the streets and parks, once again lead to the naturalness of the furnishing accessory made and the strong link with the element EARTH to which it belongs."
thanks to the collaboration with Tonino Marseglia, owner of a very special space, "L'Artigianato di Maria Suma", dedicated to the excellence of Salento ceramics.
The space was opened in 1978 in a small workshop in the old town centre of the "White City", so called because of the blinding monochromatic colouring of the old town painted in quicklime. It is a shop with customers all over the world, thanks to its research, originality and uniqueness of its artefacts scrupulously made by the best Salento artists.
The beauty of this space is that it picks up the tradition of working with terracotta, but always revisited in a unique and contemporary way using special processes and enamelling:
The pine cone that becomes a lamp is marvellous; the terracotta is entirely hand pierced. Like the plate services inspired by the rural life of peasants or the "smarmoriati" plates, decorated with splashes of different colours, in the past the various defects were splashed with enamel of different colours to hide production imperfections.
Each piece in Tonino Marseglia's space is a unique piece of design and furniture for any environment anywhere in the world.
